Layer 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and butter an 8- or 10-inch baking pan.
Combine flour, sugar, Bournvita, salt and baking powder in a large bowl.
Gradually add the butter until evenly combined before mixing in the egg.
Put the contents into the baking pan and bake for 15–18 minutes at 180 degrees C.
Layer 2
Mix the caster sugar, milk and orange essence. Add the orange zest.
Spoon the mixture on the baked biscuit until evenly distributed and refrigerate for cooling.
Layer 3
Melt the chopped Bournville bar with the butter in a large glass bowl placed over a pot of simmering water.
Stir until it becomes a spread and then spoon it on the cooled second layer. Smoothen the surface with the back of a spoon.
Once the chocolate sets, cut into 2-inch squares.
