The Flintstones are a favorite of people of all ages. The characters, set in the Stone Age, are lovable and fun. Here are some dessert ideas inspired by them.

The Flintstones prove that even the Stone Age was fun! With their struggles and celebrations, the family—consisting of Fred, Wilma, Pebbles and Dino—has been delighting audiences for generations. Recall the prehistoric family on your desserts, which is sure to make your guests go "Yabba-dabba-doo!"

1. Pebble Bars

It was the Stone Age, right? Stones and pebbles were the currency and most valuable resources at the time. So make a dessert reminiscent of those stones and pebbles, but with a twist of color, by making these colorful cereal pebble bars with chocolatey pebbles.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, plus more for greasing
  • 6 cups mini marshmallows
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 6 cups any cereal of your choice, preferably colorful
  • 1 pack Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles

Directions:

  • Butter a baking pan and set aside.
  • In a cooking pan, melt the butter on low heat. Add 5 cups of marshmallows, the vanilla and salt, and cook, stirring continuously until the marshmallows are melted.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in the cereal, Dairy Milk Pebbles and remaining marshmallows.
  • Scrape the mixture into the greased pan and flatten.
  • Set aside till it cools completely, then slice into bars and serve.

2. Strawberry Cake With Jell-O Toppings

This one will require a bit of shopping! Go online and find The Flintstones Jell-O molds. If you’re lucky, you should be able to find molds of all the four characters. Make the Jell-O, pour in the molds, and refrigerate to set. In the meantime, make a scrumptious strawberry cake and lather generously with frosting. Then, slice the cake into four large triangle slices. Top each slice with one of the Jell-O molds and serve cold.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack white cake mix
  • 1 pack strawberry gelatin
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup finely chopped strawberries

For the frosting:

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup crushed strawberries
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven.
  • In a bowl, combine the cake mix, gelatin, sugar and flour.
  • Add the water, oil and eggs. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds.
  • Then gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
  • Transfer the mixture to greased baking pans.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool.
  • For the frosting, in a small bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Then add the crushed strawberries and beat. Slowly add the confectioners’ sugar to reach a creamy consistency. Spread the frosting between layers and over the top and sides of the cake.

Once cool, gently add the Jell-O figurines on top and serve cold.

3. Dinosaur Cookies

Bring the Flintstones’ pet dinosaur Dino to life with themed cookies. Use dinosaur-shaped cookie cutters to create cookies, then decorate them with vibrant icing to resemble Dino, imitating his vibrant purple color. Add mini chocolate chips for eyes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup softened unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract

For decorating:

  • Royal Icing, purple
  • Chocolate chips

4. Bedrock Banana Split

Put a Bedrock twist on this classic dessert. Use banana halves as the base, then top with scoops of your favorite ice cream flavors, drizzle with chocolate sauce, sprinkle with crushed nuts, and finish with a cherry on top. Treat the banana split like a rocky road, atop which the family is driving. Use a mold to create a chocolate car and figurines, and place them on top.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop chocolate ice cream
  • 1 scoop strawberry ice cream
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • 1 tbsp chopped almonds
  • 1 tbsp chopped cashews
  • ½ cup whipped cream
  • 1 cherry
  • 1 chocolate bar

Directions:

  • Melt the chocolate; put it in the molds you’ve found and let it set.
  • Slice the banana evenly down the middle and place the two halves on the serving plate.
  • Add the scoops of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream roughly in the middle of the two banana slices.
  • Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and add a dollop of whipped cream on top. Press the cherry onto the whipped cream.
  • Place the dinosaur, car, or other figurines on top, based on the molds you’ve found.
