We know what Detective Jake Peralta might be if he were a dessert, but what about the rest? Thought of what Captain Holt, Perfectionist Amy or Sergeant Jeffords would be or like as desserts? We find out.

Noice Your Way Through Stress With These Brooklyn Nine-Nine-Inspired Desserts

We know what Detective Jake Peralta might be if he were a dessert, but what about the rest? Thought of what Captain Holt, Perfectionist Amy or Sergeant Jeffords would be or like as desserts? We find out.

Your work buddies and friends might not be as cool as Jake Peralta and Gina Linetti, but these desserts sure are. Bite into a Captain Holt-inspired dessert that is not as dry as his personality to a sophisticated dessert that represents the too-organized Amy with a heart of gold.

We’ve got a dessert that suits the friendships and the characters in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine web series. Pay homage to these characters who handle office stress like a pro by letting work consume them entirely. While we don’t recommend that, we do recommend unwinding with these desserts inspired by the beloved characters who worked in the 99th precinct.

1. Captain Raymond Holt’s Favorite DessertCarrot Cake

pexels-carrot-cake

It’s just carrots for the stoic Captain, but that does not qualify as a dessert does it? We went ahead and added a few ingredients to his favorite carrots, by that we mean maida, some sugar, a little cinnamon, butter, an egg, and cream cheese on top. A carrot cake is fairly easy to make, sweet and moist, not so much like Holt’s dry personality that only his pet, Cheddar seemed to be able to crack.

2. Charles Boyle’s Spicy Wedding Cake

The scene where Jake spits out a spicy cake, with the spicy habanero pepper frosting, is not why we suggest this cake. You can add any simple frosting to your cake and you don’t need a reason to gorge on wedding cake when you can make one for yourself and feed your loved ones too!

While we don’t recommend making Charle’s spicy cake that Jake silently suffered through, to support his best friend, you can surely opt for a pumpkin spice cake with white frosting perfect for autumn! It is delicious and the white frosting will hide the surprise that your cake, in fact, is full of the Halloween spirit that the jokester and the much-debated King of the “Halloween heist”, Jake Peralta, would enjoy.

3. Gina Linetti's Rainbow Funfetti Cake

pexels-rainbow-cake

Gina is a firecracker delivering punchline after punchline effortlessly in the sitcom. Just like her colorful personality, a funfetti cake, with several rainbow layers, suits her the best! Gina loves making a good entry and stealing the limelight; nothing screams attention like this cake.

Layers of light and fluffy vanilla cake filled with sprinkles and frosting in every color make for an attractive treat. The outside is coated in more sprinkles for maximum "fun" that is Ms. Linetti’s middle name, and is perfect for the star who later turns into an Internet sensation because it is “Gina's job to be the human form of the 100 emoji”. This Instagram-worthy cake is a true party in your mouth and sure to bring smiles.

4. Amy Santiago's Tiramisu

pexels-tiramisu

Just like Amy Santiago’s love for color-coded and stringently organized binders, the tiramisu is perfect for her. It’s artfully layered and gives a kick of caffeine being a coffee-based dessert; its supple texture and cocoa dusting on top is a perfect blend of her softness and perfectionist attitude towards solving crimes and doing so in an orderly fashion.

Amy has a no-nonsense personality when it comes to her obsession with organizing, especially the organized binders, which makes the Tiramisu best suited to her character. There's coffee, there's chocolatey layers, and the base with the soaked lady fingers, which hints at the softness that Amy has, something that Jake truly appreciates.

5. Rosa Diaz’s Chocolate Tart

Emotionally constipated Rosa is a badass at her work and a wreck in her personal life, but despite her prickly interior, she's a big softie; a true hedgehog. A chocolate tart suits her the best, which captures Rosa's personality with the hardened chocolate cookie crust representing her tough exterior and soft chocolate mousse filling representing her inner self.

Decorate the chocolate tart with chocolate shavings or shards to look like broken pieces of Rosa's tough armor. A light dusting of sea salt instead of the chocolate shavings can be added to enhance the chocolate flavor of the tart.

6. Sergeant Terry Jefford's Yogurt-Inspired Parfait

pexels-yoghurt-parfait

Somebody kept eating Terry's yogurts and this time it can be you; after you make it yourself. of course! Terry Crews who plays Sergeant Jeffords in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, coincidentally loves yogurt, so much so that writers wrote it into his scenes. His favorite? Of course the mango yogurt! Flavored yogurts are great by themselves but what if we told you you can make a deliciously healthy layered dessert using plain dahi?

Make a parfait; add a layer of curd, preferably sweetened, then top it with chopped fruits, then add another layer of curd, and then top it off with granola. You can make this in a shot glass or smaller glasses. Revel in the layers of this simple, healthy dessert that Terry Jeffords wouldn't mind hogging.
