It's festive season, you're up to your ears in shopping lists for gifts, menus for entertaining, and you're not quite happy with that bulk order you put in for traditional sweets with your neighbourhood halwai. Of course, the sweets are delicious, that's not your concern. But you're wondering if this year, it wouldn't be better to bring in a personalised touch. A *true* personalised touch, not the kind you get for a sum of money at a suitably fancy sweets studio.

For the Recipe

  • Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk- 1 bar
  • Kimia Dates- 15 pcs
  • Dried Apricots- 8 pcs
  • Pistachios- for garnish

Directions

step-1
01

Slit the dates from the center and deseed them, but make sure you don't slice them all the way through.

step-2
02

Cut the apricots into halves. If the apricots are too hard, soak them in hot water for 10 minutes first, pat dry them with a paper towel and then slice them into halves.

03

Stuff the apricot pieces into each date and freeze them for 15 minutes.

04

Chop the pistachios into tiny pieces and set aside.

05

Line a baking tray with butter paper and set aside.
To coat the dates in chocolate, make sure you have the dates, melted chocolate, pistachios and the parchment lined tray all on the table next to each other.

step-6
06

Chop the Cadbury Silk into tiny pieces.

step-7
07

Place the Silk in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 10 seconds, then stirring it, and then popping it in the microwave again. Repeat until the chocolate is completely melted.

step-8
08

Dunk each piece of stuffed date into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to coat the date completely.

step-9
09

Once it’s completely covered with chocolate, lift each date and tap the edge of the fork to get rid of any excess chocolate.

step-10
10

Place the chocolate coated date on the baking sheet and garnish with the chopped pistachios.
Repeat the process with all the dates.

step-11
11

Once the dates have been coated in chocolate and garnished, pop them in the fridge for an hour.
Store in an airtight container and serve cold.
