For the Cake
- 4 bars Cadbury Bournville 50% Dark Chocolate, chopped into smaller piecesBuy
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
For the Vanilla Sauce
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar

Step 01
Cake:
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. -
Step 02
Place the chopped Bournville bars in a large glass bowl. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir continuously until chocolate has completely melted.

Separate the eggs and mix in the egg yolks with the melted chocolate. Make sure the chocolate is slightly cool.

Using an electric mixer, mix the egg whites until it stands in soft peaks. Gently fold in the sugar until fully combined.

Fold the two mixtures gently together until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Butter a baking tin and spoon in the cake batter. Bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees C. Let it cool.

Vanilla sauce:
Combine all ingredients in a pot over low-medium heat. -

Slowly stir for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat and continue to stir, until the mixture thickens.
